My daily walk
Taking a daily walk has become a nice ritual for me, especially in the aftermath of rain and cold weather in LA. The crisp air and the green scenery warm both my body and soul.
Initially, when I relocated here to La Crescenta last year, I struggled to embrace walking around the neighborhood. The relentless winter rains made outdoor excursions daunting. Moreover, Gus, who was blind at the time, found the rocky sidewalks unfamiliar and uncomfortable.
However, as time passed, I realized the importance of resuming this activity. Walking has always held a special place in my heart from fond memories of my upbringing in Seoul, Korea. The simple act of strolling through bustling streets of busy city and serene parks was an integral part of my daily life.
So, despite the challenges and adjustments, I lace up my shoes and just go out each day. It's a chance to unwind, reflect, and reconnect with myself amidst the hustle and busy schedule.
Do you listen to Podcasts? I have a handful of podcasts I enjoy listening to while taking a walk. Aside from a bunch of art and ceramic podcasts, I also like listening to Talk Easy with Sam Fragoso. I hope you all listen to the latest episode with Dr. Seema Jilani. Listening to her description of her time in the hospital in Gaza was so heartbreaking.
